More international students are enrolled in colleges and universities in the United States than in any other country. As a response to the higher number of international students, an increasing amount of intervention techniques are needed to address the specific needs, unique experiences, and acculturation patterns of these students.

This work takes a critical look at the adjustment problems as experienced by African students at public universities in America and provides these students with information to assist in the smooth transition into the American academic community.
