Falling In: Movement and Becoming in Curatorial Research, edited by Dahlia El Broul, Ksenia Kaverina, and Jussi Koitela, brings together curators from diverse locations to explore and discuss their research-related methodologies, motivations, and aims. The essays delve into the multifaceted nature of their work, addressing its performative, educational, historical, affective, bodily, activist, and communal dimensions, and highlighting how much of the research takes place beyond traditional academic circles and doesn’t necessarily seek validation from institutions.
Published within the context of the Frame Curatorial Research Fellowship—a four-year initiative for contemporary art curators aimed at exploring novel research approaches that challenge conventional curatorial and institutional practices—Falling In features contributions from Ama Josephine Budge, Diana Campbell, Sonia D’Alto, Léuli Eshraghi, Satu Herrala and Eva Neklyaeva, Anaïs Lepage, Miguel A López, Nikolay Smirnov, and TOK (Creative Association of Curators, Anna Bitkina and Maria Veits).
